Liz Eggins is a CEPS Research Assistant. Liz recently joined the CEPS team after completing her double degree (Bachelor in Psychological Science (Hons I) and Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice) and honours thesis at Griffith University. Her thesis involved examining the efficacy of detecting guilty knowledge/deception via electrical brain activity (measured by an EEG), with a specific focus on facial stimuli and whether detection differs between autobiographically and incidentally acquired guilty knowledge of faces.

Liz is currently involved in several CEPS projects (one of which is the Queensland Community Engagement Trial); preparing her thesis for publication; and hopes to begin her Clinical/Research PhD with CEPS in 2011 under the supervision of Dr Sarah Bennett and Professor Lorraine Mazerolle.

Liz’s research interests include developmental crime prevention; psychological theories of criminal behaviour and forensic psychology; mental illness and its association with criminal behaviour; the interplay of psychology and criminology in the Criminal Justice System; and victimology.
