Kristy Meszaros is a CEPS PhD student based at Griffith University and supervised by Dr Louise Porter, Associate Professor Mark Kebbell and Dr Halim Rane.  In 2009 Kristy graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours). Her dissertation, supervised by Dr Louise Porter, focused on public perceptions of risk and protective factors that may predict whether an individual from the Muslim community will become involved in terrorist behaviour, and how emotion plays an important role in the perception of risk.  Her current research aims to build on her dissertation and seeks to further investigate the factors that increase the resilience of members of Australian Muslim communities to Islamist extremism, to assist in the construction of a valid and reliable risk assessment.
