| Charles Hunt charles.hunt@uq.edu.au 07 334 69343 | Charles Hunt is a PhD student working on the Performance Models project. He is a higher-degree researcher at the University of Queensland Social Research Centre, and is funded by a scholarship provided by the Australian Federal Police. Charles was previously a Research Associate at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre in Accra, Ghana – engaged in research, training and policy development on a wide range of issues relating to African peace and security. In this capacity, his research focused on: the role of media in conflict and UN peace operations; multidimensional and integrated mission structure; and, the political and institutional preparedness to prevent/halt mass atrocities. Charles subsequently worked as a consultant with the African Union and Economic Community of West African States, on projects concerned with developing the civilian dimension of the nascent African Standby Force and enhancing the role of police in peace operations, respectively. His current research interests include: Performance measurement in post-conflict environments; Evaluation of police in UN peacekeeping operations; and Protection of civilians in armed conflict and the ‘Responsibility to Protect’.
